Q What do you do?

I’m a product and brand designer. I help bring ideas to life—whether it’s a new physical product or a brand that needs a strong identity. I’m basically the middleman between what’s in your head and something real.

I basically act as a middleman between the product or business concept you have in your head and real life. I turn ideas into tangible, delightful realities.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I studied industrial design and marketing, but actually started my educational journey pursuing chemical engineering. I've found all the principles I learned in school are extremely synergistic, but are unfortunately rarely applied together.

With design sketching, 3D modeling, graphic design, and branding through jungian archetyping, I’ve worked with businesses ranging from international food brands to small batch artisans on creative product and branding solutions. I've picked up a wide range of tools along the way, and try to continue learning by trying new things.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I really try to use both sides of the brain. Creative problem-solving meeting functionality hopefully creates a little bit of fun! I approach design from a strategic lens, but I still believe by solving the problem as best I can, the result will be a beautiful thing that is somehow delightful to the consumer.

Q What are you working on right now?

Looking for new projects in product and brand design. If you’ve got an idea, I’d love to help bring it to life.

Q What’s your style?

If a wad of cash was miraculously dropped in my lap today, one of the many potentially inadvisable things I would do is bring Spaceship Earth Coffee Company to life.
It's everything I could ever want: good coffee, socialist business practices, and vintage comics.
You can see it here on my website.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Consumer product design. It’s sometimes harder to get off the ground funding-wise but the most fun for me by far. Figuring out a clever solution within tight constraints is always exciting.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

^ Please post for me. Thanks

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

^see above^

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I’d tell 2nd grade me who wanted to be an inventor he's on the right track. Keep taking stuff apart until you understand it better.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

How they move through each stage of a design project. Where they start, how they test, and how they know when they’re done.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Product design, branding, packaging, 3D modeling—if it involves creativity and problem-solving, I’m in. Furniture and kitchen stuff are my sweet spots, but I’m open.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

Working with someone who’s as excited about design as I am. Someone who cares about good ideas and good execution. Also, if you’re an investor: I’ve got a batch of consumer product concepts—from kitchenware to games—that are ready to explore.

Q What is your rate?

My base rate is $75/hour. Every project is a little different though, so just send me a rough idea of what you’re thinking at adam@acidesign.studio and I’ll get back to you with a custom quote.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Email me at adam@acidesign.studio.

Include:
– What kind of work you need (Product/Branding/Rendering/Sketching/etc.)
– Your timeline
– Any project notes, materials, wants, or deliverables, etc.

After that, we’ll set up a quick call and take it from there.
And don’t worry if your idea isn’t fully baked—happy to brainstorm or just talk shop.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Alissa Martin - fellow slashie and my lovely partner of many years, a constant inspiration.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

I try to stay curious and pay attention. Inspiration is everywhere if you’re open to it.
