Q What do you do?

I am a strategic problem solver with a focus on creative planning and business operations. Part Project Manager, part Creative Operations, part Recruiter and part Strategist. I’ve held both full time and contract roles over the last 10 years that utilize my stack of skills for different brands and markets.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

My career actually began in event management, which quickly taught me that I craved more meaningful challenges. A pivotal transition, almost a decade ago, into project management revealed my ability to adapt and learn, exposing me to critical skills across tech, branding and client-facing roles. Through each project, I developed a versatile skill set by embracing opportunities outside my comfort zone, always prioritizing growth over perfection.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

My skill stack is defined by adaptability and breadth. I've navigated roles across many industries – from startup to corporate, spanning F&B, hospitality, CPG, fashion & performance companies. This diverse experience has given me the deeper understanding of business as a whole and how each role intersects. In my recruitment, I don't just understand roles – I've lived them, bringing genuine insight and empathy to every placement.

Q What are you working on right now?

Right now I am working on a few part time projects in the tech and performance space, while recruiting for a few roles in lifestyle and creative direction.

Q What’s your style?

I personally align with projects that are connected to brands that have a story to tell. A reason behind them, charm, and are created as a solution to help people in unique ways. Maybe that problem is running low on olive oil, or maybe it's using a subscription service while traveling to make your adventure a little more convenient when you need it most.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I think we live in world of endless options, indecisiveness and differing opinions can create a lag in getting almost anything done. I believe if you have 60-70% of the information you need to make a decision, then a decision should be made. There can always be a plan B, or redirection down the line. I think progress stops when there are too many options to consider. Having a concrete vision is essential to getting anything started.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

I saw this quote the other day - “I don’t want AI to do my design work or take my client calls so I can do my laundry and dishes, I want AI to do my laundry and dishes so I can take my client calls and design”. The most impactful pieces of my job - like conversations and innovation are what I love most. So if I hired someone, it would be to help with the tasks that always need to be done, but are sometimes moved to the back burner in my daily life. Keep my fridge stocked with my essentials, grab my dry cleaning, get gas for my car. Creating ease in day to day so I can focus on the bigger picture.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

I knew that to propel yourself forward is completely in your control and the sooner you grab the reins and try something the sooner you figure out what works/doesn’t work for you.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

Probably the quantum field, the studies that have taken place, the science behind it and how we are using that to advance/learn.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

Probably the quantum field, the studies that have taken place, the science behind it and how we are using that to advance/learn.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I’m looking for freelance, contract or part time roles. At the moment I have 20 hours per week available. I travel often so ideally I can work on a project that can be flexible with time zones, but I am flexible as well!

Q: What is your rate?

Hourly rate fluctuates between $65-85 p/h depending on many factors: Length of contract, size of the project, resources/team size etc. I'm open to day rates, project rates or weekly rates as well - each project and company are so different and require different approaches!

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

You can reach me via email: alyssaraewatkins@gmail.com

Q Who is a creative you admire?

My sister — Jody Watkins

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

You are as capable as your own perceived limitations
