Heather Seksinsky
Q What do you do?
Specializing in digital design, branding, and presentation decks, I support small startups in securing funding as well.
While I primarily work independently, I also have a dedicated team of copywriters and developers to deliver complete website builds, embodying the 'Co' in Heather & Co. My portfolio spans various industries, including fashion, luxury, real estate, beauty, and lifestyle.
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
Living in NYC for six years, I earned my BFA in Graphic Design from the School of Visual Arts. During that time, my focus was on email & web design, along with bits of photo direction and editorial. In 2016, I moved to Santa Monica and worked in fashion as a digital designer at Hautelook, and then in 2018 began transforming the visual identity for FIGS, aligning the brand's visuals with the quality of its products, which contributed to FIGS doubling its revenue on a monthly basis.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I stand out in my field due to my diverse blend of agency and in-house experience. In challenging situations, I advocate for all viewpoints to ensure the best creative solutions are achieved. Known for my adaptability, attention to detail, and collaborative spirit, I am valued by both clients and brands alike.
Q What are you working on right now?
At the moment I am working on a packaging and a Shopify e-commerce website for a super healthy protein drink, a Cargo website for a renowned fine artist and painter, and visual identity for an interior designer.
Q What’s your style?
My style is mainly super clean and elevated, but sometimes you’ll see a spark of fun and vibrant color. This is reflected in a couple websites I have created such as Junevity, Coldwell Banker Global Luxury, and JLo Beauty.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I am drawn to industries like lifestyle and real estate, but I am also intrigued by anything new and different. Whether it's print or digital, I'm well versed across various formats.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Admin vs. Creative, a constant battle.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
Cleaning my house, doing my meal prep, tracking my finances and admin work… squeezing all I can out of that $20/hr!
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
If I could go back in time, I would tell myself to let the universe do its thing and to stay patient with yourself!
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
I would be curious how other business owners would streamline their day to day work.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
I am open to anything new. I would love a career that would allow me to merge my passion for fitness and health with my skills in graphic design.
