WHAT DO YOU DO?
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
From meticulously laying out my photo albums to dancing ballet, I've been a visual person my whole life that it only made sense I went to school for graphic design. After graduating from Adelphi University in New York with a BFA in graphic design and a minor in dance, I worked in the fashion industry for 10 years...but always felt like something was missing. I realized my department was spending so much time and effort designing but it really wasn't selling at retail.
This is when I learned about UX design and how you take the user's problems and needs to influence your design decisions. I wanted to implement this at my full time job but I was laid off and decided to take the leap into entrepreneurship. Not going to lie, entrepreneurship isn't easy. I was filled with tons of self doubt and at times, I felt lost. I started my business to help my clients find clarity in creating their fullest potential to pay forward the guidance and inspiration I found from other female entrepreneurs.
How do you stand out in your field?
My design process is very collaborative because you know your business better than anyone else. Working together, you'll get a one of a kind look and feel for your business that creates a memorable experience for your customers with personalized visuals that feel like you and make you instantly recognizable in a sea of other brands.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
Currently, I'm focusing on brand strategy, logo design and Squarespace websites for female entrepreneurs.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
Clean and concise. Even when there is a lot going on, there is still a sense of organized chaos.
WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?
Film photography. I miss having an actual camera in my hand and working in a darkroom. I shoot with my Dad’s canon which is older than me!
And to dance more...i’m a trained ballet and jazz dancer. Getting to class is one of the last things on my priority list.
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
I tend to overbook myself with networking events. I know they are important to my business. But I have to be more strategic at choosing which ones I go to so I don't burn out.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
Make my smoothies every morning and my lunch every day. It would be one less thing on my to do list and I could focus on other things.
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
I would have told my 20-something self, “If you think you’ve outgrown your current role, it is probably time to move on. Bite the bullet and do it. You got this!” And “know your worth!”
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
I want to learn more about psychology, specifically understanding motivation/the thought process.
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Branding redesigns/refreshes. Focusing primarily on brand strategy with logo design and/or Squarespace websites as potential deliverables.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
I would love to work with entrepreneurs who have a product/service that people are gravitating to/want more of (market validation) and are ready to take their branding to a whole new level. I want to help them create their fullest potential so we can create a brand that attracts and inspires more of their top customers.
