Q What do you do?

I am a marketing consultant with a focus on social media strategy.

I help brands build out their marketing calendar, execute their content strategy, and build their online presence through digital marketing.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I received my both my bachelors and a Masters in Marketing, and have since worked both in-house and agency side. My experience has been focused on CPG, but within that I have worked with brands in health and nutrition, lifestyle and wellness, fashion, beauty and luxury.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

Having worked both agency-side an in-house at at several brands, I understand the importance of efficiency from my agency work and the value of marketing integration from my brand experience. I’ve worked hard over the course of my career to hone this, and my clients now get the benefit of this refined process that maximizes the impact of marketing budget.

Q What are you working on right now?

Right now I’m focused on distilling down- in my personal life, with my business, everything. I’ve put a lot of time and intention towards understanding what I want out of life and what works for me, and now I’m putting it into action. In my business that looks like really honing in on the work that inspires me and builds a strong path forward for MUSE.

Q What’s your style?

I like elevated design, a curated aesthetic. If you look at MUSE’s aesthetic, it’s the perfect representation of who I am- it’s a mix of mix of more straightforward and ‘masculine’ font styles and colors, with a touch of softness and femininity. I think in my line of work you have to be bold, but I also love to tap into the creative side of myself. How I live my personal life is very much reflected in the style of MUSE DIGITAL.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I want to continue focusing on the beauty industry. I love all my work regardless of the industry, but beauty is a personal passion of mine so when I can blend the two it’s *chef’s kiss*. Outside of the industry, I love giving greater brand direction and especially driving the visuals for a brand. Some of my favorite projects have been working with brands who are still relatively small, and supporting them across all of their marketing. From social posts to web design, I love getting to help a brand define themselves and put their face out into the world. I don’t take that work lightly and I feel it’s an incredible honor to help a brand on that journey.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

Balancing business and personal. But who doesn’t feel that? As a sole proprietor it really is time into the business = success. But also I’m reaching a point in my career where I really want to focus on my life outside of work, not live to work. Balancing those needs can be a pretty tough tightrope to walk.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

Ironically it wouldn’t be anything for my business. It would be the random things in my life that always interrupt my flow- figuring out lunch (somehow lunch always feels like a big task?), making that dentist or doctors appointment I always find a reason to not have time to schedule. And frankly having them make me follow through.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

Don’t be in a rush to get to the ‘ultimate job’. When I was early on in my career I was 100% focused on climbing the ladder to get to that C-Suite position, but I look back and wish I had been open to trying other things. Lateral moves (or even a hard left) would have totally been fine, but I felt like I couldn’t deviate. I’ve corrected that now by being open to trying new positions whenever they come my way. I became a Lagree instructor a couple of years ago and it’s totally changed my world, given me balance and opened up a different side of me.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

How to be a better manager. I would love to think that my team finds me to be the best manager but it’s always something I want to improve on. I think there are people that do pretty well at managing people and then there are those managers that really are meant to lead, and I’d like to be that. People skills are so valuable in all aspects of our lives so why not learn from a true expert.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I’m looking for collaboration. If you want to find a partner that truly becomes an extension of your team, I’m your girl. MUSE bring expertise in social marketing, you bring a deep understanding of your brand. Let’s make some magic!

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

I’m looking for clients that are digital-first. And by that I mean ones that are truly bought in on the importance of social/any digital marketing, and not just as a sales tool. A team that gets content, building community, and how social works within your marketing mix.

Q What is your rate?

I customize each proposal to the scope of work, but generally speaking if your budget is under $3,000, I’m not your girl. Now if you’re looking for a small project or to work with me on some hourly consulting, a smaller budget like that is totally fine! I always want to try to make something work, so shoot me an email with all the details (that includes being upfront about your budget range), and I’ll be 100% honest on what I can do within that and find the best solution for you. What most important to me is that there is enough budget there for me to be able to make a real impact on your brand.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Shoot me an email kelly@musedigitalstrategies.com or reach out via my website musedigitalstrategies.com. Details always help, so let me know what you have in mind + you budget range and I’ll get back to you asap. We’ll hop on a quick call to discuss, and then take it from there!

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Corey Staley- she is the yin to my yang when it comes to social media and a wizard with Community Management. She’s the first person to text me about algorithm updates or the latest trends on TikTok, I swear she has a secret in with the social media powers that be.
Find her here:

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Scrolling social (unfortunately) + IRL interactions. You never know what is going to inspire you out in the world!
