Q What do you do?

I work with different words to make work that makes a difference.

What does that mean? It means I write copy to help brands of all shapes and sizes meet their goals. Whether it’s print or digital, television, social media, or radio, I make sure whatever I write works hard, and works for your brand.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

I've always liked being creative. As a kid, I would make silly fake TV commercials with my friends. I went to Boston University and studied Mass Communication, Advertising, and Film/Television, and interned at over 8 different ad agencies and video production companies to find my footing.

After I graduated, I started working at a tiny ad agency in Salem, MA, where I was the only copywriter and also managed two accounts, ran all our clients' social media, and did all our agency's video editing. I learned not just to wear many hats, but to wear each of them well.

Since then, I've been at a few different agencies, big and small. I've learned a ton and worked hard every step of the way. The most important thing I learned is that I like making an impact with my work — and the greatest impact comes from working with cause-driven companies, smaller businesses, and awesome people.

So, that's what I do now.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I care — a lot. No matter the project, I always give it my all. I do my research, do my best, and do it all with the goal of helping you meet yours.

Q What are you working on right now?

I'm working on a bunch of different projects, but my favorites include a sustainable alcohol business, a disability-focused clothing brand, a climate change organization, an educational travel company, and on my own disability inclusion nonprofit, AllWorthy.

Q What’s your style?

I can meet any brand's tone (or create one for any brand), but definitely prefer to work on cause-driven projects. Or anything quirky and playful. Or anything that involves animals. I'm not picky, though. As long you're nice, I'm game.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

Cause-driven organizations, all the way. If I could spend 100% of my time working to make our world a better place, I'd be 100% happy.

Q What is frustrating you right now?

My biggest frustration is fear — the fear to do things differently or do something that will stand out because it's not something you've ever done before. It's the work that stands out that works the hardest.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

A reliable Production Assistant with a flexible schedule.

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I wish I could have told my awkward pre-teen self to own her weirdness, and that one day, her weirdness would be her entire job. Also that nobody looks good in velour sweatpants.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I believe I can learn from everybody. But If I had to pick one expert for the sake of answering this question, I suppose I'd love to talk to the Harmon Brothers to learn how they get their brands to have the guts to be weird.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

I'm open to any part-time freelance opportunities — especially if they involve raising awareness, being weird or silly or fun, or dogs. I love dogs. Especially big, fluffy ones.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

My ideal client is someone who wants to collaborate and is willing to be a little bolder than their competitors.

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

Just send me an email or DM with what you're looking for! Extra points if you include a photo of your pets.

Q Who is a creative you admire?

I love this question! More people have helped me elevate my work than I can list here, but a few of them include:

Jillian Pacheco, Art Director.

Jill's a stellar partner, and is always asking how we can make something cooler.

Aly Garcia, Copywriter.

Aly is the weirdest lady I know, and even when I was her boss and she was an intern, she helped me learn to embrace my weird and try as hard as I can.

Sam Pitino, Creative Director.

Sam was my favorite CD ever. He taught me to always question what I'm doing, and to focus on what's right for a client. Sometimes, it might be something they haven't thought of yet. He also taught me the importance of focusing my creativity on the things I love.

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?

Take time to create things that aren't for your day job.
