WHAT DO YOU DO?

I build brand identities based on a combination of a business’s values, services, message, target audience, and style in order to attract ideal clientele and support a thriving business.

I provide the insight, visuals, clarity, and direction business's need to remain consistent across all media and continue to grow for years to come.

WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?

It all started in high school when I got my first Mac and signed up for Adobe Creative Cloud, I was hooked almost immediately.

I further explored this idea of "graphic design" my sophomore year of high school when I signed up for an Illustrator class, after it ended I knew that's what I wanted to do for the rest of my life!

I went to Middle College my senior year of high school meaning I was finishing up while attending college classes at the same time and once I graduated I enrolled at Living Arts College to pursue my bachelor's degree in Interactive Media Design.

Little did I know the book "The Success Principles" by Jack Canfield would land in my hands during my second year of college. After reading the book I knew I was meant to do more than just work at a design company, I was made to run my own business.

I pursued my own business by setting up a WordPress site, establishing a brand based around the things we discussed during class, and started offering any and everything design related like logos, packaging, print collateral, and more.

Fast forward a year, I'm learning more than ever through YouTube, other designers, and social media about "branding", I'm also dabbling in web design.

In August of 2018 I officially registered Kenzi Green Design, at the time I was starting to narrow my focus in on branding and web design through WordPress.

By April of 2019 I had gone from charging $75 for a logo to $1500 for branding with rates continually increasing with each new client I received.

In June of 2019 I rebranded myself to better resonate with my ideal clientele (female owned businesses and bloggers), became very firm on my set rates, and now had a ton of experience with web design.

During the summer I further invested in my business by taking Branding with Bre, signing up with Bonsai, branching out to Asana for project management, switching over to the one concept approach for branding, and expanding to Showit website design in addition to WordPress and SquareSpace.

That leads me to now!

How do you stand out in your field?

You'll find my brand to be fun and feminine while also being just the right amount of friendly and professional.

My work is very niche specific to female owned businesses and bloggers with little details making the biggest impact on your experience as a viewer, client, or fellow entrepreneur.

I like to share some insight into my personal life while still basing it around my day to day life as a brand strategist. I believe many of my clients are attracted to me not only because of my approachable feel but because I consistently provide value rather it be through my blog, social media, or direct contact.

WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?

A total rebrand and website redesign for Your Happiest You, a blogger who empowers her readers through enlightening personal life stories and advice.

A website build for Able Fables, a book brand that is all about promoting inclusion for individuals with disabilities.

A website build for Lions + Tigers, an upcoming marketing and PR team.

WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?

Feminine, light, inviting, detailed.

WE ARE ALL SLASHIES WITH MULTIPLE SKILLS, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD DO MORE OFTEN?

YouTube/Vlogging.

I like sharing graphic design related stories, advice, and tips through youtube. It has always been a passion of mine to become an influential social media star.

During college I received a few brand deals through my personal instagram account which was field with professional outdoor/creative portraits but it never took off and I eventually decided to focus more on my business account alone.

Now that I've opened up to the idea of YouTube and tying it into my business it is very appealing to me and another avenue to pursue social media influence but time consuming.

WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?

My clients not giving me the content I need to move forward or jumping ahead of themselves with too many ideas.

IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?

Manage my social media all the way from planning the content to writing the captions. I find I devote a lot of time to my social media and I am very particular about my aesthetic feed.

LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?

Don't do work for low rates even when you feel you are desperate!

IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?

The best way to attract more local clientele.

WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?

Website design and branding for female owned/bold feminine based brands.

DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.

The branding and website design of Not Quite Chaos, a blog about organization, prioritization, vacation, and family lifestyle.

Amber is in her 30s, has 2 children, a husband, a quirky but fun, feminine style, and likes to think outside the box when it comes to her brand.

She was one of the best clients I've ever worked with and we continue to work together on small projects to date.

She takes her brand seriously and strives to improve her audience experience to date.

WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?

I charge fixed rates with branding starting at $1500 and web design starting at $2500.

I recently decided I will no longer accept any small projects below $1500 unless having past experience with the client. Small projects being things like custom CSS edits and landing pages alone.

HOW SHOULD SOMEONE APPROACH YOU ABOUT WORKING TOGETHER?

Submit a contact form through my website on kenzigreendesign.com or email me directly at kenzi@kenzigreendesign.com providing an overview of where they're currently at in their business and where they want to be so I can determine the best way to get them there!

HOW DO YOU STAY CREATIVE?

Nature, hanging out with my chickens, Pinterest, weekend detox from work, my coffee.
