Margot Judge
Q What do you do?
“I craft images; bringing together people, emotions and light to tell stories”
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
For almost a decade, I worked in the news industry. I was burnt out in 2021 and decided to make a change; I drove across the country from New York to Los Angeles.
Through chance encounters, I met creatives in LA that helped me find my voice and trust my instincts.
I taught myself through a lot of trial and error and many hours of Youtube videos. Starting with objects in my home before graduating to real people.
In the summer of 2022, I started working with my first modeling agency.
Learning never ends, I am constantly tinkering, trialing and testing. I strive to constantly build on my foundation and improve my craft.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I am true to my values and live authentically.
Q What are you working on right now?
Summer is almost here and I am excited to capture images that radiate that happy, warm, easy feeling.
Q What’s your style?
Taste is ever evolving; I always feel like the next project is better than the last - more authentic to who I am and what I am trying to say. But truthfully, every single project is a reflection of the person I was at the time of its creation.
I've worked very hard to make sure my portfolio says exactly what I want to say: beauty is diverse.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I am so happy with the balance in my life right now. I get to primarily do what I want to be doing, but I am afforded a lot of freedom in exploring other interests. Right now, I don't wish for anything more.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
Outreach and marketing. I wish people could just magically find me and hire me. Putting myself out there is the hardest task - something I hear from a lot of other creatives - but I know I have to get over myself and get on with it. Marketing is a part of the puzzle.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
In 2025, $20/hr feels low.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I wish I could tell my teenage self to stop dimming myself in order to fit in. Be yourself. It's scary, but it's worth it.
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
Lighting. I have been so lucky to work with incredible professionals in this craft, but there is never just one way to do lighting and I want to continue to explore and learn and understand as much as I can.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Any brands looking to capture authentic moments and interested in creating safe and respectful sets. Making images with creative teams that have the space to truly explore and play.
I'd love to explore the world of music key art - having the opportunity to craft a world and a visual language, that's exciting and appealing.
Honestly any work that supports me in telling stories.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
Clients that are interested in saying something. And understand that an image is more than just a still. It has something to say. It lives inside a whole world.
Q: What is your rate?
Rates depend on the scope of the project, the licensing, etc.

Marianna Fierro - a fantastic illustrator and art director
