WHAT DO YOU DO?
With an education and working experience in various studio medias, set designs, interior designs and designs in the entertainment and fashion industries.
WHAT STEPS DID YOU TAKE TO GET TO WHERE YOU ARE NOW?
Even as a child growing up in South California I felt an artistic bug. I attended California State University Long Beach to pursue my Arts focused education. I earned a Bachelor of Arts, Studio Art with an emphasis in Sculpture. Over the years in my creative endeavors I have worked from eCommerce photo shoots to retail window displays, entertainment projects to interior estate designs. I am driven by expressing my creativity in all that I do. With my strong diligence, attention to detail and enthusiasm I’m committed to bringing my skills to any table.
HOW DO YOU STAND OUT IN YOUR FIELD?
It’s easy for me to understand where my clients want to go creatively. I am well-rounded, well-traveled and have a tool belt filled with experience that I bring forth to any project. I am a quick learner, sure handed and with a desire to create any form of art with my hands. I conduct in-depth visual and written research for every project and assignment.
WHAT ARE YOU WORKING ON RIGHT NOW?
I am a freelance Production Designer & Content Creator. In have spent the years since graduation learning the in’s-and-outs of the entertainment and design industries by assisting creative heads in these areas. I am also writing two books and a poetry booklet.
WHAT'S YOUR STYLE/PERSPECTIVE/TASTE? DO YOU HAVE A PROJECT THAT REPRESENTS THIS?
My style is fluid. I can create any perspective/aesthetic needed to tell a story - whatever the client is looking to capture/project.
WE ALL HAVE MULTIPLE SKILLS OR WORK IN VARIOUS INDUSTRIES, WHICH ONE DO YOU WISH YOU COULD FOCUS ON MORE?
Set-driven projects where I can work with my hands!
WHAT IS FRUSTRATING YOU RIGHT NOW?
What frustrates me is too much desk time, too little hands-on creative time.
IF YOU COULD HIRE SOMEONE FOR $20/HR, WHAT WOULD YOU HAVE THEM DO TO MAKE YOUR DAY EASIER?
I would hire someone to do the basic desk work, leaving me free to concentrate fully on my creative process. This would be fantastic.
LET'S BRING OUT THE TIME MACHINE. WHAT DO YOU WISH YOU COULD HAVE TOLD YOURSELF, WHEN, AND WHY?
In high school, not to care what others think and to be comfortable with my unique self. Would have made things easier.
IF YOU COULD TALK TO AN EXPERT TO GAIN MORE INSIGHT ON SOMETHING, WHAT WOULD IT BE ABOUT?
How to market myself to gain more opportunities for work.
WHAT KIND OF OPPORTUNITIES/PROJECTS ARE YOU LOOKING FOR?
Art directing, production designing & content creating where I can conceptualize, project plan and execute through to a finished product.
DESCRIBE YOUR IDEAL JOB/CLIENT/COLLABORATION.
A job where I interact with collaborative and professional colleagues and clients. An environment where I can meet a client’s needs for positive outcomes.
WHAT IS YOUR HOURLY RATE, RETAINER, OR SALARY RANGE?
This clearly depends on the time and skills needed for any given project.
For full time work $25.00/per hour.
An all day shoot is very much different than prop gathering and stage setting.
