Yarden Lior
Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?
It's an ongoing journey of hard work, smart work, learning, sharing kindness, and endless curiosity. My background includes music production, painting, and woodworking. However, the consistent tool that I have kept reaching for has been a camera. I moved to the US in 2015. After graduating from film school in LA, I moved to NY and kept working as a fashion photographer and Cinematographer. Today, I live with my wife in LA and constantly visit NY for work.
Q How do you stand out in your field?
I strive to stand out by staying true to my values and aesthetics as an artist. I deeply care about my craft. By engaging in clear communication with my clients, I seek to genuinely understand their vision and deliver high-quality work that meets their expectations.
Q What are you working on right now?
There are too many things! But I'm very excited about a short film that will be filmed by the end of the summer.
Q What’s your style?
My personality leans towards the quieter side, and I believe my images reflect this. They are not flashy but possess a timeless and classic aesthetic that ages like fine wine. I am fond of nostalgia and enjoy using images to tell stories and create a world for the brand and models to inhabit.
Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?
I'm a movie lover and a film school graduate. I would love to combine fashion and dramatic narrative.
Q What is frustrating you right now?
I hope to "take it easier" on myself and allow myself to be less judgmental of my own work. As much as it's important to have high standards, it's more important to have a healthy relationship with your own work.
Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?
Smile at me.
Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?
I think about this constantly. I wasn't prepared for this adventure and did not expect the hard times to be this hard when I started out. I would love to remind the younger me to trust the process every once in a while!
Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?
Achieving consistency. Clients, income, the planning for the future.
Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?
Editorials, lookbooks, campaigns, advertisements, portraits, etc. I love to diversify always be creating.
Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.
I enjoy healthy relationships built on communication and respect. Let's pursue our passions with a smile. :) I'd love to know my client on a personal level, but I also understand that, at times, a job needs to be quick and efficient. I'm very flexible and aim to fit the needs of the client.
Q: What is your rate?
The rates for my services vary depending on the project. For standard day projects, the rate is 10/2500. For passion projects, I see it as a collaboration. Sometimes, I may be needed for a quick small shoot, and pricing is more flexible in those cases. Im always open to discussing it and making it work for both parties!

Q Who is a creative you admire?
Logan Mock is very talented and always kind. It speaks volumes about a person when they are willing to help selflessly. A great collaborator needs to be both a talented photographer and a good person—and that's Logan!
