Spring Street Social Society x Stay seeks an Experienced retail associate

Culver City, Ca

Stay is a three-month long pop-up retail experience produced by Spring Street Social Society, known primarily for their ephemeral gatherings. Stay will be their first foray into the retail business. Spring Street Social Society is looking for part-time, on-site retail associates to work at the store’s Culver City location, inside the new Platform development. The brands carried in the store will be comprised of friends and collaborators of SSSS, and we are excited to bring them all under one roof. In addition to being a retail space, Stay will also host occasional events, workshops, and gatherings.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Promote sales within an energetic retail, gallery, and gathering setting
  • Process credit card and cash transactions using a POS system, working to ensure accuracy of inventory as well as cash flow
  • Replenish products, keeping the store tidy and the displays robust
  • Maintain visual merchandising standards set by SSSS, including but not limited to signage, fixtures, and product displays
  • Maintain safe and clean work environment, ensuring that all fixtures, systems, and equipment are in line
  • Assist with on-store events as needed, and in all departments as necessary
  • Maintain a high level of product knowledge and familiarity with brands and their relationship to SSSS
  • Communicate clearly and effectively with store overseer and the co-founders of SSSS
  • Uphold brand integrity and identity

 

Our Ideal Candidate

  • One to two years of experience in the field of customer service, either in retail or hospitality, but preferably in a boutique setting
  • Impeccable and unique taste/style
  • Excellent communication skills, positive attitude, collaborative spirit, and a helpful demeanor
  • Experience with cash-handling and a POS system
  • Creative, proactive, assertive, and initiative taking
  • Dependable, trustworthy, and consistent
  • Ability to lift 30lbs
  • Ability to work a flexible schedule based on the needs of the business, which may include evenings, weekends, and holidays.
  • Capable of performing all store duties, including opening and closing, independently any interest in art, design, performance is not necessary, but definitely excites us
