Starting + Extending a SQSP Trial


Add “/config/extendtrial” to your built-in domain while you're logged-in to your Squarespace account. For example, name.squarespace.com, then you’ll go to name.squarespace.com/config/extendtrial in your browser.

  • You’ll only be able to do this when your 14-day trial is up.

  • Set a calendar notification 🗓 and/or check your inbox for the Squarespace reminder email.

  • You can also find the exact expiration date under Domains.

  • Site trials extend for another 7 days so you will have to extend it again after that time but…

  • You can extend as many times as you need!

😱 Don't let your website expire over 3 months!

If you see this message…

  • 🔍👀 keep an eye on your trial

  • ⏳ let it run out (don't wait longer than 30 days)

  • add /config/extendtrial/ and try again!

Your website expired or is “deleted”

Squarespace may delete the content of your website if your website hasn't been touched for a few months.

  1. First, try to go your website /config. Then refresh and add /config/extendtrial. It should work!

  2. If not, reach out to Squarespace Support. If it's possible, they may be able to help restore your site.

  3. If not, it happens to the best of us. ❤️ Dust yourself off and begin on a new template! And this time... be sure to extend your trial so it doesn't expire longer than 30 days!

Change Your
Domain Name

After you’ve chosen your template you can change the domain name so it’s easier to reference.

  1. Head to Settings → Domains

  2. Customize the Site ID with this naming convention: firstname-lastname and add the following at the end, depending on your level:

  • Section 1: firstname-lastname-pedro

  • Section 2: firstname-lastname-halcyon

  • Section 3: firstname-lastname-custom*

*Note: You own these sites! If you’d like to change the domain name, especially for Section 3 site to your actual preferred site name, You do you!
