Previously, I had designed websites and handed them over to a dev team and had no idea how they came to life. Starting freelancing, I knew most of my potential clients couldn't afford my services AND a developer, so I wanted to figure out how I could serve that market.

I also wanted a portfolio site I actually liked. I'd tried and failed to hack Squarespace on my own before. The go-at-your-own-pace, enticed by milestones, surrounded by community structure of the ilovecreatives’ course was the perfect way to get going. I was able to put my learnings to use before I even finished the course! It helped me think a lot more critically about UX/UI in my work. And, the resources and Slack [now Discord] channels alone are worth the cost.
