Q What do you do?

I make everything beautiful!

I have a degree in fashion from IED Milano, worked for one of the most amazing stylists in Italy, managed an online magazine that then became a concept store in Los Feliz in 2016 called Desperate Los Angeles. Designed bags and clothes, styled everything: from red carpets to music videos. My goal in life is making every human feel great in their skin.

Q What steps did you take to get to where you are now?

Since I was I little girl I've always been interested in all form or art. I studied painting and graphic design in high school, Italian literature in college then shifted to fashion in 2011 and received my degree from one of the most influential fashion university in Europe, IED Milano. Learned every little trick from my mentor, Francesco Casarotto, and opened my boutique, my own little magic world in Los Feliz in 2016.

Q How do you stand out in your field?

I have worked for over a decade in this field and I feel very confident in my abilities. I see fashion as a reflection of society, and I believe I have great sensibility for everything that surrounds me. What we wear shouldn't just be clothes, but our moods and feelings, our beliefs and expectations. And yes, sometimes just a hoodie cause we don't want to be seen.

Q What are you working on right now?

I'm working on my clothing line, wardrobe styling and learning something new every day.

Q What’s your style?

Desperate Los Angeles represented my taste level on steroids. A place where I can express every little parts of my aesthetic in complete freedom.
I enjoy creating mood boards and collages, I love researching and discovering new trends or forgotten ones, brands, artists, subcultures. Everything has potential to be mixed to create something new and unexpected.

Q Out of all your slashies, which one do you wish you could do more often?

I've been super interest in trends lately, trend forecasting is incredibly appealing to me

Q What is frustrating you right now?

I think everything is moving and flowing and I prefer to look at what is cool instead of what is not.

Q If you could hire someone for $20/hour, what would you have them do to make your day easier?

A full time tax person 🙏

Q What do you wish you could have told yourself, when, and why?

I'm very proud of everting I've done, I wouldn't change a thing.

Q If you could talk to an expert to gain more insight on something, what would it be about?

I still have so much to learn, but super down for the ride.

Q What kind of opportunities/projects are you looking for?

Freelance, consulting, fashion design, creative direction, wardrobe. Anything from a client I admire and any project I find exciting.

Q Describe your ideal job/client/collaboration.

A space where individuals can work together in safety , creating something extremely special. Where everyone respects each other's expertise and vision united by the common goal of beauty and growth.

Q What is your rate?

It really depends on the project, duration, and hours. My daily rate is $800 or $100 an hour but it all changes if we're talking a longer job. You know, let's talk 😎

Q How should someone approach you about working together?

cicci.cassina@gmail.com / desperatelosangeles@gmail.com

Q Who is a creative you admire?

Q Oh! and… how do you stay creative?
