I’ve landed multiple contracted jobs – creative, marketing, design. I’ve been using the job board since 2019 when Puno launched her Squarespace Design Course! That’s actually what put my foot into the door with most of the employers. Anytime anyone asks me where to look for jobs, I ALWAYS recommend the ilc job board. Like no joke! Such a helpful tool for creatives.

Read MoreI was unable to establish any sort of friendships in a very lonely period (postpartum!!!) of my life, so this course was literally a life buoy thrown at me when I needed it most. The weekly calls gave me a structure to DEMAND time for and from myself. Verbally riffing off ideas with other people gave me such a creative high that would carry through the week.

But if we're talking SDC content, I got so much satisfaction from accomplishing my 3.2 and 3.3 websites, as that's the point when I got to make informed decisions based on the knowledge from the first two chapters of the course. This is not my first time trying to make websites in Squarespace but it's my first time not giving up because I actually knew what I was doing throughout. I really had no idea where to start and felt overwhelmed, but the course has made it so easy and fun, and has given me the confidence to go off and expand on my skills. My favourite thing about the experience would have to be creating spec work and having feedback from Mindy and Sarah. Being able to implement everything I've learned in the course to create a 'real-life' brand identity has been so fun and the supportive feedback from Mindy and Sarah has been amazing. Having this spec work to add to a portfolio that I can show potential clients is so valuable.

I'm still working my way through it, but I am really loving the workbook and worksheets. I also like that each lesson is short and focused on a small task to complete. You really get to see how each lesson builds onto the previous one and it helps keep the momentum going to complete the course.

Having someone be able to take a look at your work and offer advice or solutions when you're creatively stuck or just can't figure out the code was great. This isn't some static, work-on-your-own kind of course, it's a whole community of creatives.

I wanted to take the course to learn from other designers and their processes and also how to go freelance. I've been really enjoying the lessons and resources we get with the course. I think my favourite thing is being able to context with people but also those who are running the course. The TAs are so cool, kind, and super supportive that makes the experience more enjoyable and less intimidating to an introvert like me.

For me, Finance Friends Forever is thorough, accessible and contains LOTS of information about all aspects of financial literacy. It contains definitions and terminology so you can build foundations. But, it also contains real life examples that are discussed at length, giving insight and a dose of reality to money talks - which can be scary and easier to ignore than dive into.

Puno and Rachel are not only wonderful teachers - with inspiring vision and style - they really break things down in a way that makes me believe I CAN DO THIS. And I’m reminded to breathe! Honestly, when I’m feeling broken or stuck, that’s the most important thing. If I had to pick a favorite thing about this experience, it would be the office hours. I love hearing about other people’s creative journeys. I have always found the pre-and-post production process to be very lonely and having a virtual community where you can hear people’s voices/see their faces is really uplifting.

There are a lot of "middle men" on Instagram that pressure people who sell products to pay them for advertising and when you have such few followers you may start to think that's a good idea, but it's not. The Instagram content planning course proves that. Everyone's perspective was niche but interconnected in some way. It was like everyone was a part of one of those Dodecahedron dice where everyone has similar interests just coming from different places.

I enjoyed being able to go through a journey together understanding our own individual creative process with the guidance of Rachel and Puno. I learned so much of myself as well as pushing myself creatively and creating content in a more visceral way. I think the best part for me was hearing Rachel's insight on her creative process and watching how she creates art in the form of a video.
